Amazon Kindle Reader Review: Should you buy a Kindle Reader?

There are a number of reasons that Amazon’s Kindle reader is often the number one choice for consumers of ebook readers. In this Kindle reader review, we look at why you would purchase a Kindle reader as opposed to a Sony ereader, a Nook or even an iPad.

There are a lot of choices out there and deciding which one suits your needs is one of the hardest decisions for you to make. The Kindle reader review looks at the advantages and disadvantages of a Kindle Reader.

Advantages to the Kindle Reader:

- designed to provide an exceptional reading experience.
- revolutionary screen that gives an ink on paper reading experience without the glare of a computer screen.
- very easy on the fingertips.
- great for left and right handed people.
- never becomes hot.
- can be read comfortably at any angle for long periods of time.
- content arrives immediately and automatically wherever you are.
- samples can be read and downloaded before purchasing the full ebook.

Disadvantages for the Kindle Reader:

- not very elegant casing.
- pricing seems high for something that is just an ereader for Amazon books.
- lacks a true Web browser.
- black and white is fine for books but for periodicals and magazines you can miss out on any colour or image content.

How to decide whether Kindle is for you? Kindle Reader Review

This Kindle Reader review looks at the difference between a tablet or an ereader.

Do you want to do more than just read ebooks on your ereader?
Would you like to surf the net or send and receive emails?
Would you like to use your reader for social media such as checking into Facebook or sending tweets?

The big question when looking at a Kindle reader review is to decide on the functionality you are wanting in your device.

If you are simply wanting an easy way to read books and carry multiple books without the weight and space of paper books, then a dedicated ereader is probably what you need.

However, if the idea of watching Youtube videos, skyping the family and checking your emails grabs you, then a tablet is definitely for you.

Tablets

The new Kindle Reader, Kindle Fire is not just an ereader, it does just about everything an iPad does (and if you like the Amazon cloud based tools then you will find that it is perfect for you) and the price is a lot lower.

The Samsung Galaxy tablet has been very popular and runs in a similar fashion to the iPad. It has a full colour screen, wifi, all computer capabilities and ereader ability.

Of course, the iPad probably has the easiest screen to use but it is constantly being upgraded and for the slight difference in functionality of the touch screen, saving a bit of money by purchasing a Samsung Galaxy tablet or a Sony tablet can give you a similar experience for a much smaller price tag.

Does your favourite US store not ship the product you want to your country? Try Goopping! who will setup a US mailing address and then forward the product to you. Check it out, it makes the online shopping world in US available to all International customers.

Why would you buy a Kindle reader from Amazon if you live in Australia?

There are some incredible prices for iPads, tablets and ereaders at Amazon and with the exchange rates looking good for Australians at the moment, now is the time to check out these deals and the combined shipping power of Goopping.

More Ipads

Amazon has some incredible deals but until recently a lot of these deals, in particular, electronic deals, were just not available for Australians. How often have you seen those offers that even give free US postage? Now with Goopping, you can get Amazon to send the product to your Goopping US mailing address and then Goopping will send the product on to you.

For example, I did a search for an iPad on Amazon and found an iPad I wanted to buy but they would only ship in the US. So I went to Goopping and did a shipping query to find out the price to have it shipped from the US and found it was only $31.05 (see screen shot below) and it looks like a very fast service too!

Looking for the Cheapest Android Tablet?

I’ve spent a lot of time lately checking out the forums and online stores for the cheapest android tablet available.

I bought my 11 year old son what I thought at the time was the cheapest android tablet and it certainly seemed a good deal. The trouble was that the reviews were incredibly mixed. But I figured, for $100 I couldn’t really go wrong. It certainly fitted the bill for being the cheapest android tablet around at the time. Compared to an ipadcheapest android tablet it was a bargain and does plenty for an 11 year old’s needs.

In fact, it’s perfect for most adults too!

It is a Pendo and they were originally sold by Dodo as part of a deal with broadband. I got mine as a second from a place in Annandale. It had a very tiny scratch on the surface. However, it came with its box (no instructions) and all the bits and pieces. Continue reading

Ouffer Offer Scam?

I suspect I’ve been on the receiving end of an “Ouffer offer scam” -

This Ouffer offer scam was through one of the companies promoted on their Deal a Day site. I tried to do a search for “Ouffer offer scam” & it does seem I’m not the only one who has had this happen. It seems that others have paid for a deal and then either didn’t receive anything or what they did get was something way less than advertised.

A couple of weeks ago, Ouffer sent me an email with a steam carpet cleaning offer. I jumped at it since that weekend a friend had moved out leaving a fairly well stained carpet in the room.

The Ouffer Offer Scam Story

One day after paying and ordering the gig I received a call from “All Star Carpet Cleaning”
(website- http://www.allstarcarpet.com.au)
to book my steam clean on Saturday 10/09/2011 at 12.30pm. I run my own business from home so I had to close the business for the day and spent many hours tidying up and decluttering the house so the steam cleaners could actually find the carpet – only to find they didn’t show up! Continue reading
